2020 International Arbitration Survey: Adapting Arbitration to a Changing World

Queen Mary University of London and White and Case logosWe are once again pleased to be partnered with White & Case LLP to launch our 2020 International Arbitration Survey: ‘Adapting Arbitration to a Changing World’. This is the twelfth major empirical International Arbitration survey conducted by the School of International Arbitration, Queen Mary University of London.

The Survey considers how international arbitration has adapted, or may continue to adapt further, as the interests and needs of the arbitral community reflect global changes including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Survey aims to research the outlook of the international arbitration community as a whole not just the views of a particular group. All stakeholders therefore are invited to share their perspectives of international arbitration, including private practitioners, in-house counsels, arbitrators, academics, or those working for an arbitral institution.

You can also find the questionnaire in pdf format [PDF 1,287KB].

We appreciate that not all questions are relevant to all respondents. Please answer as many questions as you can, and feel free to leave blank those you cannot. The questionnaire should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The closing date for responses is 21 December 2020.

White & Case will make a donation to SOS Children’s Villages and the World Wildlife Fund for every completed questionnaire or interview.

In addition to the questionnaire phase of the survey, we will seek to conduct individual interviews with a selection of willing respondents. If you would prefer solely to provide an interview rather than complete the questionnaire first, please contact Dr Maria Fanou.

Your participation in this questionnaire will be kept fully confidential. Your name and the name of your organisation will not appear on any materials connected with the survey. The information gathered by the questionnaire will be stored securely by Queen Mary University of London and used only for the purposes of the current survey and any subsequent surveys.
